"Bummer, Dude."

Well, even the power of "The One" has it's limitations...

Nah, screw that Matrix crap, KEANU is behind it all now.

And 'Street Kings" was proof. From the very beginning of the film, watching him waking up in clothes from the previous night and boozing Tiny Airline Bottles of Vodka while DRIVING (Oooh, I don't approve of THAT!)

Anyway, dont wanna spoil the first 20 minutes, but it's worth the price of admission.

After THAT, the movie spins a bit out of control and recycles the "Corrupt Cops Conspiracy" storyline we've seen a bit more and more lately.

Forrest Whitaker earns points for another over-the-top performance left over from his "Last King of Scotland" pagebook.

Supportive roles by Terry Crews, Common, The Game, and Cedric the Entertainer give the movie a good range of all around TV-Actors, TV-Comedians, and Musicians-trying-to-be-Actors.

Even Hugh Laurie (With a surprising bald spot in the back of his head!) as the Nosy Internal Affairs guy was cool.

This was a Good Movie that COULD have been better if it came out 3 years earlier. But now, it's gonna fall in line with a LOT of other outstanding-yet-familiar films.

Think not?...well lets take a trip down memory lane and see if ya'll can see the similarities in these films...

In a way, "Street Kings" is "Dark Blue", "Training Day", mixed in with a little "Dirty"...the stories blend in perfectly it's uncanny.

I kinda wish it made more money in the box office thou, 12 Million doesn't seem enough "Justice".

Hopefully next weekend..."The Forbidden Kingdom" will clean house!

One last thing, this movie attracts a bit of a Ghetto Audience...I saw the 1:05pm show at the AMC (Stupid, I know) and there were hood punks ready to start a fight mouthing off! If I saw it in a Magic Johnson Theater, I'm pretty sure a shootout would ensue.

"...for it's only the Last Song, if we let it Be."

It's 2:04am

I just caught the hour of "Dancer in the Dark" on the Late Night Movie for local channel TV 55.

There are tears in my eyes.

I can't remember when I had a good cry like this...nor why I don't watch this movie more often.

I really need to.

My hands are shaking as I type this...

I'm going to sleep now.

Tomorrow I will wake up early to see "Street Kings"

"Moby Bandwagoners"

So, once again, MOBY's on my mind.

Talked to my cousin again and we totally exchanged views on this album for about 2 hours...

God, did you ever have that cousin you almost kinda wish wasn't your cousin because he/she's like your TOTAL best friend in the world?

DON'T GIVE ME THAT LOOK, White People do it all the TIME (No Offense...)

Anyhoo, so I told the story about this poser on the job who nabbed my autographed CD the minute I was showing it off, he immediately wanted to borrow it for the night to burn a copy...

I was miffed at first, but then let it go since he seemed into MOBY too, so I asked him how deep his interests was...

He had a few songs on his MP3 player and told me he owned the "Play" CD...

"That' IT?!?!?" I asked.

"Yeah," he replied puzzled.

"But what about "18" and "Hotel" or any of his early works like "Ambient" or "The Next is E"?

He only seemed to be into "PLAY" due to it's commercial success and popularity...

He even mistook the title of the B-Side "Flower" (used in "Gone in Sixty Seconds) as "Bring Sally Up"...

GEEEZ, what fake ass poser!

I guess I shouldn't be too mad, but someone "Fakin' da Funk" of a vicious dunk jus ain't right...

Did a lotta laundry today, worked on the ipod adding some tunes, pics and stuff...

Along with season 2 of "The Boondocks", I've actually dug and and downloaded all the episodes of the cancelled series "Meth and Red"...it was kinda funny back then...I could use those old episodes for a good laugh when things a slow on the job...

I plan to add some "Cowboy Bebop" next...

Everything else has been cool...

"Cloverfield" is already being released on DVD soon and there's a DVDRIP out there...

I feel like making copies and GIVING them away to prevent that damn movie from making any more money!

The pre-summer movie jump-off is about to start as "Street Kings" comes out Friday.

Keanu Reeves as a Bad-Ass "Denzel-in-Training-Day" Cop sounds priceless...and It ain't jus NEO, it's an all-star cast in a gritty drama about the Drug Scene in LA (Bout time!, Tired of all these bad movies about NY giving us a bad name!)

A lotta people were asking me if I plan to bootleg the Summer Hits coming up...

Like "Iron Man", "Speed Racer", "Indiana Jones", and "The Dark Knight"...

Hmmmm, I dunno, some movies I appreciate too much to take money away from them....shyyyt!

"Still on Cloud 9..."

Yeah, life's been great still despite all the wackiness happening everywhere.

All I can think about is the Music...

My iPod has been on OVERDRIVE and I am just tuning out the rest of the world...

HOWEVER...

1) Psycho-Sis has yet again gone over the deep end, promising Baby Girl a "Wii" if her grades are kosher this marking period.

2) MOM is planning the first of yet MANY trips this spring and summer, Taking Sis, and Baby Girl to NC for Memorial Day. She's planing a trip to Ohio (Again!), Virginia on the 4th of July to see Auntee Tina and fam, A possible trip to Jacksonville...AND she got her Passport renewed for a trip to the Carribean (WTF?)

3) I finally did my taxes after taking care of my debt to the State that had my bank account levied (BASTARDS!), I can't believe how LITTLE I made last year! Which means I have a LOT coming BACK to me! In fact, the STATE was going after my nutz for 500 dollars and now I'm expecting 399 BACK from THEM! I'm also getting a solid GRAND from Federal PLUS the George Dubya 300 in May

That's a nice cushion to relax on...more on what I plan to do with that LATER (Heh, heh, heh...)

4) Work's, been crazy, but I'm still hanging in there...my review was compiled and is pending approval from the Head Honcho, but in the current state of affairs a raise is not looking very likely.

So, that's about all that's been happening'...

I'm sorry I haven't been posting as often, I'm coming up with a blank on what themes I wanna do at this time.

I could do a reader's poll for some ideas on what ya'll wanna see, but I don't think I have enough of a consensus to do so...

"Is THERE anybody readin this that I DON'T KNOW?!?!?!?!?!"

Seriously?

"Moby and Me...."

What do you do when you come Face to Face with one of your gods?

Would you kneel in their presence and marvel at their greatness?

Would you get all giddy and faint with a loud shriek like Judy Jetson meeting Jet Screamer?

or would you just blather something incoherent like Peter Griffin meeting Gene Simmons?

I might have mentioned that I met MOBY once at the "18" Midnight Album release party in May 2002. How I totally had a Chris Farley moment and didn't know how to relay his greatness to him as he signed my CD and a copy of his Biography...

I remember muttering something like "I came out here in the rain..." Because it was raining, on a midnight tuesday and I had to go to work the next day.

It was one of the few embarrassing times I actually got star struck (I mean, I've meant celebrities before in the city and was cool as a cucumber!)

ANYhooo....

You couldn't imagine how excited I was when I found out late monday that HE was going to being signing CD's in person at the Virgin Megastore in Union Square today from 7pm to 9!

You had to buy the album and request a wristband during the day (There was gonna be a limit of 300!) then come back and line up at the back of the Virgin Coffee Cafe in the evening.

I wasted no time, getting up early and buying my CD by 12 noon, then I came back uptown for haircut. I then came back home for a little while, took a shower, ate...all while being a nervous wreck!

6:15 rolls by and I head back downtown.

I get to the store by 7 on the dot. There's a small line of about 16 people already against the wall, not necessary around the corner-type action, but HEY, it's early!

As I wait, onlookers and looky-loos ask "Who's everyone waiting to see?" and someone would answer and naturally the immediate response is "Who's MOBY?!?!"

Geez, you'd think the guy would be getting SOME recognition by now..."Natural Blues" was nominated for a Grammy in 2002 and he performed it live with Blue Man Group and Jill Scott!

Well, his time will come, maybe if he'd sing at the Olympics one day, like Bjork, I dunno....

well, 20 minutes later, I'm in in the store, a few people ahead of me. Snippets of the new album are playing, people are drinking espresso and other high-strung caffeinated drinks, avid fans are taking distant shots with cameras and cell phones...

*Damn, why didn't I bring that extra phone Miss Philadelphia gave me?...It had a camera in it!!!*

Well, at least I had brought my other digital camera, I took a couple of pics inside, while waiting...

"Be Calm, dude...don't choke this time..."

What DO you say to one of your TRUE idols!!?!?

The time finally came and I was a little less incoherent and able to stay cool...

I told him I love his music and I was at the last signing and that I've been to 3 of his concerts...

Then came the picture...OMIGOD!!!

I had noticed he usually stood beside the person and jus put his arm around the person's shoulder (Heh, there was even a pic he took with TWO young blonds, one at each hip, the player!!) but I thought I was too gargantuan for that, so at the last minute, inspiration hit me!!

I remembered that picture of Nixon and Elvis...

and figured, that would be perfect!

The result...History in the Making!

ME and MOBY...a handshake for the ages.

Then I remembered...

"Shyt, he's bit of a Germaphobe, Obsessive compulsive like Monk or Howie Mandell...the last thing he possibly wanted was to shake my hand!"

Well, the moment was come and gone by now, I thanked him one more time and told him I was looking forward to more music by him, then I was ushered away from the desk he was sitting at (I went the wrong way, like some idiot at an award ceremony).

I took a couple other pics from afar, one of the display shelf for the album and one of him signing someone else's CD.

BTW, he signed My CD, the Line notes inside AND my Metrocard for the hell of it, LOL!

His autograph was once again a lil caricature of himself.

When I got home, I called my cousin in VA and emailed her the pic and she jus DIED!!!! She's just as obsessed of moby as I am, it freaked her out and she is SOOOOO Jealous, Ha Ha!!!

Wow, what a day.

I plan to blow up that picture and hang it up in my room...

*sigh*
